I have to say, even though I haven't completed it yet, it is a fantastic game. The idea of the game isn't original, but it doesn't need to be. The Binding of Isaac, Legend of Zelda, and Ancient Dungeons all have a similar "go into room, fit monsters, get upgrades," But something about the way this game does it, is just so different and cool that I find myself playing over and over again, regardless of how many times I die to stupid enemies or my own stupidity. This is a fantastic game, and with some lore sprinkled in there, a bit of restructuring the health and healing system, I think this could genuinely go mainstream. Also, while I'm here, I might as well say this. Not only is the game astonishingly high quality even for Itch.io, but the creator of this game is an amazing person as well. I don't know them personally, but if you take 5 seconds to scroll through the comments, you'll see he's responded to most, if not almost all of them. He is incredibly nice (from what I've seen through his responses) and is extremely patient with the people who enjoy his games and like to ask questions. Sorry for the rambling, it 10:17 at night right now, and I'm going to bed. Thanks again for the amazing game, and I hope to see more projects from you.
(for lore, you could totally make it like some kids dad had this game, and he was a collector, so he bought this arcade machine or smthn. Idk, just an idea)
woooo finally did it!!! please update the browser version cuz thats the oly one i can play onðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
such a good game 5 stars!!!
What does clicking forget do
Resets your notebook for Enlightened mode!
Is there a way to get a bigger inventory? And more maximum health? Also I haven't figured out what to do with the bones and lapis lazuli but i'm assuming the bones have something to with the necrotic status the skeletons are resistant to.
No, the max health and inventory size are static
Bones are useful for a couple things! At the moment not any spells, though
not sure what to do with Lapis at all. Is the powder just Useless?
I've managed to combine it with "egg yolk" (from combining "egg" and "stone hammer") to create "blue paint". After using that on myself it changed the color of my character.
you can also use the blue paint on the electric wand(i forgot what it was called but unlit torch + lightning
for some reason the game on the website freezes at times but the music keeps playing, can i fix this or will my efforts be for naught???????
If it freezes, it's likely a crash
Can you describe the circumstances leading up to the freezes?
is there any thing you can use dead air for yet? or did i just waste a diamond
Fantastic game! Finally beat it on my 5th run. I think an interesting use of resources would be to use spells outside of battle to affect items dropped on the ground, such as a flamethrower on the meat.
I loved the game! The only feedback I would have is that inventory space quickly became a problem, and I didn't happen to discover anything that could increase inventory space. I really wanted to keep a lot of my materials for later to see if they could create something new, but I was forced to abandon a lot of items. Looking at some of these other comments, there seems to be a lot of items I never discovered. I'm gonna do another run to see if I can discover some more.
Remember seeing this game on the lil guys stream, pretty awesome game ngl
ok thanks
Amazing game but where are the frogs? you can start a game with a frog leg and a rock to get rockfling and its my favorite spell but i couldnt find frogs. anyways it is a great game and I would pay for it if I had the funds
Frogs aren't in just yet!
And thank you for the kind words :)
so is zinc sulfate just useless?
Nope! Putting a bunch of space so you have to press "View More" for the spoiler

There's another item in the game that allows you to break down items into their components -- if you have copper and zinc sulfate, you can use this item with zinc sulfate to repeat the reaction and get another spark!
what do you do with armor paint?
I have beaten the game and I still have not figured out what to do with the flower petal does anybody know what to do with it?
where did you find it?
gold coin and pixie dust
haven't played yet, nice name
I love this! Great work! It took me a second to figure it out, but now I have the hang of it and enjoying it a lot. My only harp is that there doesn't seem to be a sufficient way to gather heals. You have the meat but the drop rate is low as well as the items to make a flame. Maybe increase the meat drop rate and maybe have the goblins or kobolds around a flame in some of the room that we can use as cooking points.
Amazing work man, great work.
the game has a great immersive potential, i think you should focus on lore and storytelling, cause there is already an ambiance. now, it needs more on the ambiance and feeback side, especially sound effect for collecting items, a background, and maybe a bit of details in the pixel art, aat least more than just black screen with tiles
when i open the game im met with a black screen
Windows, mac, or html?
i'm running into the exact issue in windows, how can i fix it?
I'm not sure, but thank you for bringing this to my attention!!
I'll look into it!
Does the music start when you open it? Or is it a silent black screen?
"healing damage"
Bug: I got this bug where when I hover over something, its attributes only show up for a split second then disappears.
Its in firefox
Try reloading the page? I just updated the build -- let me know if this still happens
I came back to say that it went away after reloading. But thanks for the quick fix.
Happy to help!! Yeah it was a bug I caught while trying to make it so you could restart with keyboard and not just mouse
ahh this is so neat! in Godot too! It's a bit hard for me even on the easiest difficulty but I love the idea and I love the art! I'd like to not attack on empty tiles though since some misclicks cost me my runs :P <3
great game. I think I found all the recepies. Also, i found that sometimes a cobbolds hp can go negative under 0
When they go negative, do they still die?
If not do you know what triggered it? That's a bug I've been hunting for a bit now
I don't know about MV, but for me it also says the negative health (I.e Bat -2/2), But the enemy still dies. I don't know if that helps at all, but yea.
ah yeah, that's just how the game works, that's fine. I could make the health round out to 0 but I like seeing how much damage I did lol
awesome game my only problem is healing is so hard because you have to get fire to cook and you cant season cooked food also every now and then I randomly take so much damage
You should be able to cook the meat without salting it --
As for the randomly taking damage, is that a bug? Do you know what triggers it?
you can salt it after, i think it may just be more difficult to notice because the sprite for seasoned meat is very similar to non-seasoned meat
I mean after its cooked the game wont let me salt it
That'd odd, I'll look into it. You should be able to salt it after cooking it
It seems to be working on my end -- what happens on your end when you try to craft salt with cooked meat?
I do not know what causes it but I can be done fighting a simple slime with me being full hp but then have 6 all of a sudden
if you have slime you can probably get fire, as long as you make some fire weapons.
found a small bug where it breaks the wall and puts puke in it if you eat shroom in this setup
It's sort of a bug, sort of not
You can pick it up with your glove, but I'm working on making it so you can just click to pick it up
there are many ways items can end up in the wall, you can only get them if you specifically use the glove.
why did it take me over an hour of playing this game to realize that

torch and stick make fire TT
how do u get a torch? I'm having serious problems with finding fire ;-;
combine stick and goo and then fire and stick-with-goo-thing
once I found out how to make the inert lodestone, i made like 8 maybe? and it was over for these fools, sick game! I bet there is plenty I didn't found out in my run
really good, gameplay being a perfect mix of needing to manage inventory with ingredients to discover stuff and stuff to actually survive was super cool! ended up spamming fireballs on the last room. wish i figured out what to do with all of the chemicals you can get from the coins... is there a whole recipe table somewhere?
Not at the moment, but there's been some talks in the Discord about making a wiki
Though I want to leave the discovering to the players! So I don't want to make a wiki myself and give away all the answers. I'll put a hint for the byproducts of the copper coin down below! You'll need to click "View More" to see it (so I'm not spoiling a bunch of people)

A redox reaction is a reaction wherein the number of electrons in an atom or molecule changes (affecting its "oxidation", hence the name "oxidation-reduction" reaction). In some cases, we can use this to induce an electric current!
Try looking into how Galvanic Batteries function! As a hint -- zinc is a more reactive substance than copper, and materials may "hop stations" when bonded with a less reactive substance and introduced to a more reactive substance.
P.S. This is something you can actually try out yourself! (Though be careful as with all chemistry experiments)
Check it out:
the inventory is kinda small but this is a very good game
This is so good
Thank you!
holy guacamole that was the best roguelike i have ever played
YEAH WINGED BOOTS ARE MY DREAM COME TRUE
Haha thank you! This is a very early look at the game -- it's still in development! This is just a public playtest to guage areas of improvement and help gain the project some publicity/momentum.

Damn that's fun... wish I had more patience to figure out how to use all the copper coin byproducts ðŸ˜
So far I like the vibe. Not trying to spoil too much here, but is there any way to heal?
Thank you! And yes, there's a way to heal. I'll leave a hint here but I'll spam a few lines so you have to hit "view rest" to see it (I also don't want to spoil too much haha)

Read through the fatty meat description and consider what you can do to change its attributes
Thanks for the response. I'm avoiding the "full" spoiler for now - it's just good to know that there is a way to heal. I'll keep trying to figure it out, and then smack my forehead once I realize how easy it was :)
food= heal
This looks great.
Thank you!!
